Boasting of 20 national parks, Holland is a perfect destination to head off for nature lovers. The Ministry of Agriculture, Nature Management and Fisheries is responsible for the functioning of the Dutch National Park System and the country’s nature policy. The national parks are a selection of areas with unique flora and fauna. These areas are connected and together have a surface area of at least 1,000 hectares. The national park system is designed to protect and develop nature and landscapes, nature-based recreation, education, information and research.
