SFO Names Doug Yakel as Public Information Officer

San Francisco International Airport has named Doug Yakel as its new Public Information Officer, effective immediately.

The Public Information Officer serves as SFO’s primary spokesperson for internal and external communications, represents the Airport at various community outreach forums, and will develop content and programs for the Airport’s social and public media outlets. The Airport’s Noise Abatement Office will report into the PIO role.

“With his years of experience in the aviation industry, Doug understands the operations and nuances of both the Airport and the airlines,” said Kandace Bender, Deputy Airport Director, Communications & Marketing. “Doug brings to this position the ability to clearly and concisely communicate SFO’s often complex and technical issues.”
