CANCELLED: Due to predicted inclement weather; work will be rescheduled at a later date

A new entrance ramp from Narrows Road South, leading onto the Brooklyn-bound Verrazano-Narrows Bridge, will open June 8 as part of the $50 million toll plaza improvement project.
 
With the new Narrows Road South entrance ramp completed, contractors for Restani Construction Corp. will begin demolishing the old entrance ramp and a portion of the Narrows Road South exit ramp to make way for the new lower level connector ramp. The Narrows Road South ramp will eventually fly over the new lower level connector ramp, which will lead motorists directly from the Staten Island Expressway onto the bridge’s lower level.
 
As a result of the demolition work a portion of two lanes on the Narrows Road South exit ramp leading to Lily Pond Avenue must be closed for the next several months. Traffic exiting Narrows Road South in the vicinity of Lily Pond Avenue will be limited to using the extreme right lane, where cars normally park.
